Yogini Kaliji
Kaliji is internationally renowned as a yogini and founder of TriYoga. With a natural ability to integrate Eastern thought and Western tradition, she shares yoga practices and philosophy in a way that is understood by people of diverse backgrounds.
In the tradition of ancient yoga, the origin and development of TriYoga is guided by Kriyavati siddhi (kundalini manifesting as hatha yoga) as expressed through Kaliji. In this way, she has been inspired with a complete method of yoga, including more than 1000 hasta (hand) mudras and the systematization of asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing practices).
Traveling throughout the world to share TriYoga, Kaliji has presented over 40 keynote addresses and programs at yoga conferences and and other venues. She was featured in the book Secrets of the World’s Inspirational Women, with photos of the women in the prestigious National Portrait Gallery in London. Today TriYoga is taught in over 40 countries, with 34 centers and more than 1000 certified teachers.
Inspired by her love of animals, Kaliji has practiced the vegan plant-based lifestyle for over 30 years. She is an acclaimed proponent of the ahimsa trinity of animal rights, human health and ecology. Additionally, with music central to TriYoga, Kaliji chants and holds satsanga regularly.
Kaliji was given the title Yogini by H. H. Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji of Mysore, India. In 2006, in recognition of Kaliji’s global humanitarian service, Sri Swamiji and Datta Peetham honored her with the Vishwa Bandhu award. Vishwa Bandhu translates as friend of the universe, a caring relative of humanity.
Kaliji’s presence, her mastery of the flow and the ageless wisdom inherent in TriYoga have inspired countless people worldwide.
